Dr Matt Baker

Matt completed his undergraduate dental qualifications at the University of Queensland in 2012. He then spent the next decade working in general private practice across South East Queensland and the North Coast of New South Wales. In 2022, Matt returned to Griffith University on the Gold Coast to pursue specialty training in Periodontology, earning his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry. His research thesis, which focused on inflammatory biomarkers in the healing of dental implants, was partially published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine.

Outside of dentistry, Matt holds a professional license with Triathlon Australia and has represented Australia in the Elite Division at three ITU Long Course Duathlon World Championships, as well as numerous continental championships. While he no longer competes, Matt still enjoys running to maintain his fitness. He is also a passionate musician and holds a Licentiate of Trinity College London in Classical Piano.
