Anna Ptak

Anna is originally from Poland. As a teenager, she and her family immigrated to Toronto, Canada. In 1995, she graduated with honours with a Bachelor of Nursing and was awarded a post-graduate scholarship in peri-operative nursing. Anna enjoyed working as a theatre and anaesthetic registered nurse in various hospitals and specialist dental settings, where she developed an interest in dentistry.
In 1997, Anna specialized in dental anaesthesia, which allowed her to assist specialists in complex dental procedures for patients under sedation and general anaesthesia.
In 2000, Anna moved to Australia to further pursue her interest in dentistry. She graduated from The University of Queensland in 2004 with a degree in Oral Health, earning several academic awards. In 2016, she completed a postgraduate degree in Diabetes Management and Education.
Since graduating, Anna has worked as an oral health therapist in various dental settings and currently holds a part-time position as a Certified Diabetes Educator at Gold Coast University Hospital. She has experience in general dentistry and has taught at the University of Queensland. For the past 10 years, she has focused on the prevention and treatment of gum disease at two prominent Gold Coast specialist clinics.
Anna is passionate about helping her patients achieve optimal health and wellbeing. She believes that the knowledge and skills gained through her ongoing education and experience have shaped her professional, compassionate, and enthusiastic approach to patient care.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys hiking, traveling, power walking, and spending time with her family.
