Anna Ptak-Zylka

Anna is originally from Poland. As a teenager she and her family immigrated to Toronto, Canada. In 1995 Anna graduated with honours from her Bachelor of Nursing and was awarded a post-graduate scholarship in peri-operative nursing. Anna enjoyed working as a theatre and anaesthetic registered nurse in various hospitals and specialist dental settings, where she began to gain interest in dentistry. In 1997 Anna specialised in dental anaesthesia, which enabled her to assist specialists in various complex dental procedures for patients under sedation and GA.

In 2000 Anna, her husband and three children moved to Australia. Anna pursued her interest in dentistry to graduate from The University of Queensland in 2004 with a degree in oral health with various academic awards. Since graduating Anna has been employed as an oral health therapist in various dental settings. She has experience in general dentistry, has been involved in teaching at the University of Queensland, and for the past 10 years has been involved in the prevention and treatment of gum disease in a two prominent Gold Coast specialist clinics. Anna loves helping her patients to achieve ultimate health and wellbeing. She believes the knowledge and skills she acquired through her ongoing education and experience have helped her develop a professional and enthusiastic approach to patient care.

Apart from education, complementary medicine, orofacial myology (habit cessation), football (soccer), ice hockey, travelling and health promotion, Anna enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
